# Email This Issue Agent

## How it works? (at a glance)

1. From Rovo Chat select the “Email This Issue Agent” agent.
2. Provide inputs: issue key, template name, and recipients (users, groups, or email addresses).
3. Rovo confirms and executes the email via JETI, logging results back to the conversation and the issue.
4. Alternatively, create your own agent in Atlassian Studio: [Use Email This Issue skills in Studio](/email-this-issue/use-email-this-issue-skills-in-studio.md)

## How to find the agent?

Open Rovo with the "Ask Rovo" button and find the Rovo dropdown in the top left corner. You can search for agents in the "Switch to another agent" field. Type Email This Issue and find our agent.

## Sending an email

You can send an email about a selected issue by chatting to our agent. If there is only one issue selected, the agent will automatically suggest it, but you can override it in the chat window. You can specify recipients and various settings. The agent will help you construct the email.

You can also select a template predefined in the application. If you don't know the available templates, the agent can show you what is available in the system.

Providing a template is optional, you can instruct Rovo to generate the content (e.g.: create a status update of the issue in context) and send it. In this case, and empty template will be used, and only the content generated by Rovo will be included in the email body.

## View available templates

The agent can help you find the template you want to use for email sending. You can see the name, category and description of the templates. If you want a preview then you have to go to the template configuration section of Email This Issue application.

## Considerations, troubleshooting

Rovo can be very creative in inventing recipients (email addresses, group names, etc). Always check the recepientes in the confirmation window before allowing Rovo to send the email.

If Rovo receives an error response from the application (timeout, accesss denied, etc.), normally it doesn't indicate that there was an error, just displays the confirmation window again. It is possible to ask Rovo what was the issue that it encountered, and then it will respond with useful details.
