How to fix "Authorization Was Interrupted" error

When setting up an Incoming or Outgoing Mail Connection in Email This Issue, you might encounter the Authorization was interrupted error after trying to authorize:
This could be due to a missing step in granting permissions on the Microsoft Authorization screen.
In order to solve this, first check if you can see the Microsoft Authorization screen, after initializing the authorization.
If you cannot see a screen like this at all, it may be possible that your browser/network settings do not allow you to automatically open new tabs/popups.
In this case, check and see if you can edit this setting to allow the authorization screen to appear and accept the permissions requested.
Another problem that can cause this error is using multi-factor authentication, which should be the next item to check in alleviating this issue.
