To do a backup or see existing back ups, go to SETTINGS --> Backup/Restore.
The Backup/Restore page has a Backup button (next to Add file) which is used to create a backup file of all Email This Issue related configurations in the system.
Clicking on Backup displays a Description field that is optional to fill. The Create button under the description field starts the backup process. You may cancel the backup process before hitting Create, by clicking on the Cancel button.
The following values are displayed for the exported files:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Created on | Date and time of the export displayed in the time zone settings of the original backup system. |
Description | The description field's value that has been entered during the backup process. If left empty, nothing is displayed. |
Created by | The username of the person creating the export (in raw text format). |
App version | The version number of the source Email This Issue instance. |
Jira version | The version number of the source Jira instance. |
The backup JSON file is by default stored at <Jira Home Directory>\data\emailissue\
Backup files can be downloaded by pressing Download. To remove them, click on the three dots next to a backup and choosing Delete.
The Add file button is present for restoring data from the created backup JSON file, for more information. For more information see the Restore menu.
