Pricing Update effective December 1, 2021
Effective from December 1, 2021 prices of Email This Issue will change on the Server and Data Center deployments. Cloud prices will not change.
Why the change?
Email This Issue is our beloved flagship product. We believe that this app will please our customers for a long time. In order to make sure the app meets the needs, we have been investing a lot into features, fixes and infrastructure and we’re going to do so in the future. The major investments and achievements:
We value our on premise customers and have not followed Atlassian’s path of product development: we pararelly develop the on prem and cloud versions steadily removing the platform differences. This is a long process and we’re keeping on.
We have recently released a kick-ass new feature on all platforms: Webhook Based Alerting. This feature puts the admins' nerves at rest as they may set up their webhooks in Email This Issue to get instant alerts if something goes wrong with the email channels. Life saver if emailing is business critical for you.
More and more on premise customers decide to migrate to Cloud. Currently this is a documented though cumbersome and incomplete manual process right now. Not for long. We have been working hard on providing an automated migration path with an integration of the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant. This will allow you to kick off the migration of configuration and operation (email queues and logs) data right from your on premise Jira’s UI. We have build a new state-of-the-art infrastructure to safely accomodate the on premise customers who decide to move to Cloud.
Since our last price change in 2018,
we have made Email This Issue officially approved for Data Center use and we perform annual tests to retain the DC Approved Qualification
we have implemented the Backup-Restore functionality in the on premise versions, to support moving configuration data between Jira instances
we have added support for OAuth2-based authorization
we have further improved the app’s integration with Jira Service Management
We know…
… that increasing prices of an app is not a great news for anyone, however we tried to be reasonable:
the majority of our Data Center customers will experience a moderate increase of an average of 25-30%. Some of them will see larger differences though.
our Server customers will see large percentages on lower tiers (below the DC mininum), but moderate increase in higher tiers
the last time we increased our prices was three years ago. This is a long period in contrast of the fast pace of the changes in the Atlassian Ecosystem. We constantly face new challenges and new demands from our customer and from Atlassian as well, and we are devoted to keep up, meet your expectations and serve you better year by year.
The new prices
The below table lists the current and new prices for each user tiers of the Server and Data Center versions.
The new prices will take effect from December 1st, 2021 for new purchases. Existing customers will experience 60 days of grandfathering (old prices apply for renewals and upgrades), however new customers with existing quotes experience old prices until their quotes are valid.
